Level Description: L1 = beginner L2 = intermediate L3 = Advanced

 

ACRO

Circus Acrobatics focuses on providing a structured development in acrobatic foundations such as conditioning, strength/flexibility, handstands, tumbling, trampoline, acro balance and partner/pyramids for all skill levels to provide students with good acrobatic foundations, which will enable them to perform a wide range of circus skills and acts.

Students will learn the foundations of acrobatics, and focus on skills such as tumbling and trampolining which will provide a base for all circus movement elements for example: somersaulting on flying trapeze, Russian bar, Teeterboard, Chinese hoop diving or ground acrobatic acts. They will also work towards developing handstand skills for handstand acts, partnering/hand to hand work.

HAND TO HAND

Hand to Hand is a wonderful way to build trust in others as well as your own self confidence. Students will learn to depend on each other and allow them to support their body weight. Different types of skills will be explored during this workshop including hand to hand balance, two highs, towers and group pyramids.
This class is suitable for beginners and students will learn movements suitable to their abilities.
 
Participants must have some basic acro and handstand skills and good strength.
 
 
AERIAL CONDITIONING

This a fun way to get fit while being introduced to the joys of circus. This class is for all – beginners through to advance aerialist who are wishing to maintain their strength and fitness. The class is also designed as a gateway to learning aerials. Under careful guidance you will be introduced to aerial equipment (Silk, Trapeze, Rope and Lyra) taught the safe way to get on/off and climb. The class incorporates ground based and aerial conditioning and strength building to improve upper-body and core strength.

No previous experience required. If you would like to enrol in the Aerial Beginners class, you will first need to attend this class in order to be assessed by the trainer.

Our progressive aerial classes are designed to build stable fundamentals on fixed both silks and trapeze.
 
Through a number of movements, students will learn to ascend, descend and control their apparatus, build strength and improve their flexibility and coordination.
 
You must attend an aerial conditioning class to be assessed by our trainers before enrolling into this class. 
 
 
TRAPEZE AND LYRA

Trapeze is a bar connected to the ceiling by two ropes. In this class you will learn poses and sequences on and below the bar as well as on the ropes. You will learn to flip around the bar and work on momentum-based skills.
 
Lyra, also called Hoop, is a steel ring hung vertically by one or two ropes. At CircusWA we teach Lyra as a single-point apparatus. In this class you will learn poses and moves on and above the hoop. As you become more advanced, you will learn to spin the apparatus as you execute skills and poses.
 
SILKS & ROPE

In this class you will learn sequences, drops, slides, and flips that allow you to descend the fabric with style and grace.
 
On the rope, you will learn harder sequences, drops, and how to harness momentum to create excitement in the air.

Circus Fit – right from the beginning.
This is an adult class for anyone wanting to kickstart their body into feeling strong and fit again This is a class for everyone – no previous skills or fitness levels are required. Come try it out. Nothing to lose, and tone to gain!

JUGGLING & DIABLO

THURSDAY 11am – 12pm

This juggling and diablo class is a fun class. 
A large variety of tricks are possible with the diabolo, including tosses, and various types of interaction with the sticks, string, and various parts of the user’s body. Multiple diabolos can be spun on a single string. Come a long and learn from the Juggling maestro himself, Luke Forrester. 
 

JUGGLING & MANIPULATION

This is a fantastic opportunity to build and expand your basic skills to the next level. If you are keen in this class, but have no experience, please contact us to discuss other options. (Some juggling and manipulation skills are required).

TIGHTWIRE

In this wire class, students will learn to walk and twirl on a tightwire. 

This class can cater for all levels – new beginners, intermediate or advanced.
